Kegel8 Pelvic Floor Toners

The bestselling Kegel8 pelvic floor toners have proved a huge success since their introduction and Kegel have recently added a forth toner to their range, the Kegel8 Ultra Plus.

Most women have come to realize that traditional Kegel exercises are not that easy to carry out. The “tighten and release” set of recommended exercises are often wrongly done, resulting in years of needless incontinence. In many cases, the pelvic muscles have been so badly damaged through childbirth or just simple aging, that a woman simply cannot even isolate them to begin the series of exercises-let alone improve their tone!

When Dr Kegel devised his set of exercises, it was never intended that they should be done on an empty vagina. Indeed, he developed his own set of pelvic floor toners for women to use which provided that much-needed resistance. Over the years, this fact seems to have been “forgotten” and women often spend time fruitlessly trying to tone up their pelvic floor muscles-all to no avail.

The Kegel8 range of pelvic toners work by delivering thousands of “squeezes” in one short exercise session. Indeed, so many that it would literally take a woman hours to do them manually. There are 4 models in the Kegel8 range

* Kegel8 Tight and Tone

* Kegel8 Plus

* Kegel8 Ultra

* Kegel8 Ultra Plus

The models are all similar in design, the Tight and Tone and the Plus being identical except for the width of the probe. Both have 9 pre-set programs and the Plus version has a wider probe which is more suitable for women who have had children, or who feel that their pelvic floor muscles are particularly weak.

The Ultra versions both have 14 pre-set programs and the control unit has been updated with a better display function than the Tight and Tone. The Ultra plus comes with both the wider and slimmer probe, giving more flexibility and avoiding the need for buying the wider probe separately-something which many women will do at the beginning until their pelvic floor improves and they only need the slimmer probe.

Kegel do not claim that you will be cured within days. However, it has been shown that with proper use, many women using the Kegel8 pelvic floor toners will begin to notice subtle changes in their levels of incontinence within a couple of weeks and most will be completely cured within 6 weeks to 6 months, depending on the severity of weakness.

There is no doubt at all that using a pelvic exercise device gives much better results that trying to perform kegel exercises manually. Weak Pelvic Floor Muscles Make Sex Less Enjoyable for Women

Weak pelvic floor muscles can take a heavy toll on a woman’s sex life and even affect the quality of her relationship, according to a new survey by Pelvic Floor Exercise, the pelvic floor specialists.

In the survey of over 250 women who identified themselves as having pelvic floor muscle weakness, over 54% felt that their problems had reduced their enjoyment of sex, with over 40% specifically saying that their ability to reach an orgasm had been affected.

Nearly half believed that their pelvic floor problems had adversely impacted on their relationship with their partner.

“It frustrates both myself and my partner because before we had a wonderful and healthy relationship” said one respondent.

Few women had sought any help, with most saying that they felt embarrassed to discuss the issue. Only 10% had talked with anyone about their sexual difficulties. “It’s hard to openly admit I have a problem” confessed one participant.

These results add support to new study from John Hopkins University in the US which found that amongst a group of women aged 40 and over, those who suffered from pelvic floor problems were more likely to experience sexual difficulties too.

“These results don’t surprise me at all” said Linda McClelland, founder of Pelvic Floor Exercise, who conducted the survey. “We are regularly contacted by women who are worried that they are less sexually responsive because their pelvic floor muscles have become weak. They tell us that they feel able to talk to us by phone or email, but they find it very hard to raise the topic face-to-face with a doctor or therapist.”

Pelvic floor muscles can weaken as a result of age, hormonal changes, weight gain, pregnancy and childbirth, and for other reasons too. Because they are hidden, women often neglect them until they begin to experience problems.

“The first step to overcoming these problems is for a woman to strengthen her pelvic floor muscles” said Linda. “Because some women find it very hard to do this without help, we stock a range of exercise aids that can make all the difference” she continued.

“Feedback exercisers are particularly helpful for improving sexual response, as they really assist women to go the extra mile. We are easily contactable via our website at www.pelvicfloorexercise.comand always happy to talk to women about the aids we have available.

Respondents in the survey were aged between 21 and 74, with two thirds of them 35 or older.
